11:00am-12:00pm ET
Location: Zoom
Format: Info Session with Q&A
Facilitated by Danielle King, Director of Program Services, A.R.T./New York
Featuring: Amy Fiore, Director of the NonProfit HelpDesk
Join A.R.T./New York for a one-hour virtual conversation about the NonProfit HelpDesk, a free service to NYC nonprofit organizations providing workshops on a variety of relevant topics, an archive of previous sessions, an active LinkedIn community, and one-on-one expert support to pair organizations with individuals who can provide counsel on their most pressing challenges. Amy will share a bit about her background that began in arts administration, her segue into the greater nonprofit sector, and how theatermakers can utilize the resources NonProfit Help Desk offers.
Since its founding in 1991, the NonProfit HelpDesk (NPHD), a project of JCCGCI, has helped 2,500+ nonprofits throughout NYC by strengthening their managerial skills and helping them improve operational oversight, efficiency and procedures. Because NPHD is part of a community-based social service agency, we understand the needs of our nonprofit partners, and we know how to empower them to serve their own clients and communities more effectively. NPHD’s areas of expertise include Board Development, Financial Management, Fundraising, Governance, Human Resources, Leadership Development, Budget Planning, Communications, Marketing, Technology, and more. It is staffed by a diverse cadre of professional, credentialed, subject matter experts who are ready to provide pro bono help for nonprofits in specific areas, on multiple fronts. We provide individualized training for small cohorts, one-on-one consultations, and educational workshops that enable us to reach a broad audience while minimizing costs.
Amy Fiore is an accomplished nonprofit executive and consultant with twenty-five years of experience driving growth, sustainability, and operational excellence for mission-driven organizations. As a consultant, Amy has leveraged her extensive background in fundraising and organizational strategy to help nonprofits navigate complex transitions and achieve long-term success. Throughout her career, Amy has built a reputation for "poking the status quo" by challenging organizations to try new approaches and find more efficient and impactful ways of working. Her expertise spans strategic planning, board development, nonprofit executive coaching/counsel, fundraising assessments and plans, and staff and board training. She is particularly adept at helping small-to-mid-sized organizations build the infrastructure necessary to scale their impact while being inclusive of all stakeholders needs and without sacrificing their core mission. In addition to consulting, Amy serves as the Director for the NonProfit HelpDesk providing free workshops and expertise to organizations in and around NYC, and as the Director of Development for Story Pirates Changemakers, the nonprofit arm of the celebrated Story Pirates, for which she received a Silver Distinction for Corporate Social Responsibility in the Non-Profit Campaign category and a Best Of Live Awards: Women Who Rock Meetings & Events by Live Nation. Her deep roots in the Manhattan cultural landscape include significant leadership tenures at The Public Theater and TADA! Youth Theater, where she honed her skills in managing complicated budgets and diverse constituent needs. Tapping into her performing arts background and firm belief in mentorship and education, Amy has shared her expertise as an adjunct professor at New York University, and is a frequent speaker and guest lecturer at countless conferences and workshop series. Amy holds a degree from Syracuse University, resides in Scotch Plains with her husband and two daughters and runs a small youth theater company in her free time.
