2022 Strengthening NYC Theatres Grants (Formerly the Nancy Quinn Fund)
Overview
Building on the 20+ year history of the Nancy Quinn Fund and its general operating grants for the smallest New York City-based theatres, A.R.T./New York is excited to announce the Strengthening NYC Theatres Grant program. Aimed at providing New York City theatres with an opportunity for flexible, general operating support to strengthen and sustain their companies, this grant program provides an accessible and streamlined application process scored and distributed by a peer panel of theatre-makers.
This grant program provides theatres throughout the five boroughs of New York City with annual budgets under $250,000 with one year flexible, general operating support grants of $1000-$2000. Since inception, A.R.T./New York has awarded over $1 million dollars to the constantly evolving, most culturally diverse and artistically influential sector of our community.
All applicants will be notified of their application status by February 1, 2022. Funds will be distributed in March of 2022. The grant period is February 1 - December 31, 2022. Applicants will be required to submit a brief final report on the funds through the online grant portal by January 31, 2022.

Attendees will also be able to ask any questions they may have about the application. Attendees are encouraged to review the grant website and application prior to attending the info session.
A recorded info session will also be available to view here on the A.R.T./New York website beginning November 3. The recorded info session is captioned, and all slides are audio described.

This year A.R.T./New York staff will be offering technical assistance in the form of virtual "office hours" with Director of Programs Corinne Woods and Grants Coordinator Adam Mummery. All applicants will be able to schedule a 25 minute session, during which they’ll be happy to discuss your responses to the questions in the grant application, look over potential work samples you're considering, talk through questions on your budget and/or budget notes, and answer any other questions regarding the grant and your application you might have. All appointments will be held virtually through Google Meet or Zoom between November 1, 2021 - December 10, 2021.
Please be sure you have reviewed the grant application, eligibility requirements, and evaluation criteria prior to your meeting. You do not need to have completed responses to the application questionnaire before your meeting, but the more you have prepared the more substantial feedback they’ll be able to provide.
