Temperatures are shifting, flowers are blooming, and our collective stories are transforming—join us as we celebrate our ever-evolving landscape of New York theater! Whether you’re a freelance artist, employed at a well-established Off-Broadway house, or wearing many hats at a budding theatre company, the A.R.T./New York Spring Summit invites you to engage in this vibrant gathering, designed to enrich all facets of your theatermaking journey. Let’s reengage, reconnect and embrace the power of our collective voice. It’s time to change the narrative!
This special multi-day event is your chance to:
- Build connections with peers from New York's diverse theater community
- Collectively explore pressing topics and shared challenges alongside others at similar stages in their journeys
- Acquire practical skills and tools to advance your work—whether you're an organizational leader or an individual artist
At this year’s Spring Summit, the A.R.T./New York team will share early findings from the Health and Wealth Data Project: Supporting NYC Theatremakers through Data and Insights. Join us for this exciting presentation as well as other engaging panel discussions, hands-on workshops, and fun social events. Let A.R.T./New York help you build valuable connections that will continue to grow for many springs to come.

REGISTRATION
In order to create the most meaningful connections possible, we sincerely hope you will be able to join us in person. We are committed to providing the support necessary to make that possible. However, we recognize that in-person attendance may not be an option for everyone, so two key moments of the Spring Summit will also be live-streamed in partnership with Howlround and Transcend Streaming. When registering, you’ll have the option to indicate that you would like to receive links to view the live stream.
For in-person attendance, masking is encouraged. A.R.T./New York will have masks available for participants.
To streamline the registration process, there is only ONE registration form for all events.
On the registration form, you will be able to:
- Choose which individual events you would like to attend,
- Request additional accessibility accommodations,
- Indicate whether you would like to receive links to view the live-streamed events, and
- Tell us how we can best support you if you are a caregiver planning to attend.
ACCESSIBILITY
Key Takeaways from Health and Wealth: Supporting NYC Theatremakers through Data and Insights and Navigating Change: A Panel Discussion will both be live-streamed and will include ASL interpretation and live CART captioning for both virtual and in-person attendees.
All portions of the Summit will include
- Live CART Captioning
- Large print versions of any printed materials and
- Identifiable staff for wayfinding support.
Additional accommodations for all programs are available upon request, including:
- Support Service Provider (SSP)

We kindly ask that requests for additional accommodations are submitted by Tuesday, March 25, 2025. You may request accommodations directly on the registration form, or by contacting Ashley J. Hicks at ahicks@art-newyork.org. We understand that this is not an exhaustive list, so if you have questions or if there is anything else we might be able to provide in order to make our programming accessible to you, we’d love to hear from you.

CAREGIVER SUPPORT
- We realize that in-person attendance can be a larger lift for caregivers in our community. With that in mind, we are pleased to offer stipends to help offset the cost of hiring caregiver support. You can let us know on the registration form if you’d like to request one of these stipends, and we will email you to begin a conversation. These stipends are limited, but we will do our best to fulfill all requests.
- We know that theatre administration isn’t the most interesting topic for young people, but children are welcome to attend any portion of the Spring Summit alongside an adult. You can let us know on the registration form if any children will be attending with you, and we’ll reach out to see what kid-friendly activities (coloring books, crayons, etc.) we can have on hand. We’re happy to chat about what we could do to make the experience fun for everyone. On 04/03 and 04/04 in the Spaces@520 there are also convenient side rooms in each studio that could serve as a “homework office.”
- A dedicated lactation space is available at A.R.T./New York’s Spaces@520.
