A.R.T./New York provides grants to theatres of all sizes through a number of regranting programs supported by foundations, corporations and government agencies in the New York City community. We are deeply grateful to our funding partners for making these programs possible.

Currently Accepting Applications:

In Fall 2021, A.R.T./New York will launch a common application for three general operating grant opportunities for small theatres. For information about the common application, eligibility requirements, and available technical assistance and support for applicants, click here. Applications open Monday, October 25 and are due Tuesday, December 14 at 5pm.

Fall 2021 Grant Application Information

A.R.T./New York is excited to launch our 2022 grant programming with a consolidated grant application, new and expanded partnerships, and new opportunities for support to small theatres.

NYSCA-A.R.T./New York
Creative Opportunity Fund

A statewide theatre regrant program that provides grants of $2,000-$5,000 to theatres throughout New York State with annual budgets of under $500,000.

Strengthening NYC
Theatres Grant

Gives New York City-based theatres with annual budgets under $250,000 one-year grants of $1,000-$2,000.

New York City
Small Theatres Fund

This new grant will provide New York City theatres (annual budgets under $250,000) with two-year general operating support grants of $5,000-$10,000 annually


Rolling Microgrants

A.R.T./New York also has two microgrant programs that accept applications on a rolling basis throughout the year. Both grants are available to A.R.T./New York members (except Business Affiliates) in amounts up to $1,500, and require a 1:1 match for the proposed project.

Funds for
Anti-Oppression Work

Available for theatres to hire specialized professionals to advance anti-oppression efforts at their organizations including, but not limited to, anti-racism consultants, intimacy specialists, gender consultants, cultural coordinators, and the like. 

Access A.R.T./New York

Available for theatres to hire professionals to increase the accessibility of a project, including but not limited to ASL interpreters, audio describers, captioners, and consultants.
