UNCHARTED: Leading Beyond The Path

06.04.24 & 06.05.24

New York’s innovative theatre makers are consistently showing up for their communities and creating invigorating art - even when the way forward is unclear! That’s why A.R.T./New York is thrilled to host our 2024 Spring Summit: UNCHARTED, Leading Beyond The Path to encourage solution-sharing and strengthen relationships across New York’s non-profit theatre community, as we build our shared, prosperous and sustainable future. Building on the success of our recent Fall Forum, this two-day event will include panel discussions, workshops, mixers, roundtable conversations, and perhaps most importantly - joyful community events! You can sign up to attend whichever programs work for your schedule, but we do hope you’ll join us for as much of this gathering as possible. Join us as we explore tactical ways to not just remove the barriers in front of us, but to begin forging a brand new path!

Registration

In order to create the most meaningful connections possible, we sincerely hope you will be able to join us in person. We are committed to providing the support necessary to make that possible. However, we recognize that in-person attendance may not be an option for everyone, so two key moments of the Spring Summit will also be live-streamed in partnership with Howlround and Transcend StreamingWhen registering, you’ll have the option to indicate that you would like to receive links to view the live stream.

For in-person attendance, masking is encouraged, but not required.

To streamline the registration process, there is only ONE registration form for all events.

On the registration form, you will be able to:

  • Choose which individual events you would like to attend,
  • Request additional accessibility accommodations,
  • Indicate whether you would like to receive links to view the live-streamed events, and
  • Tell us how we can best support you if you are a caregiver planning to attend.

Accessibility

The Champions of Transition: A Panel on Succession Planning, Leadership Changes, and Foundational Shifts, and The Advocators: Forging Paths to Better Pay! A Panel Discussion will both be live-streamed and will include ASL interpretation and live CART captioning for both virtual and in-person attendees.

All portions of the Forum will include:

  • Live CART Captioning
  • Large print versions of any printed materials and
  • Identifiable staff for wayfinding support.

Additional accommodations for all programs are available upon request, including:

We kindly ask that requests for additional accommodations are submitted by Tuesday, May 28, 2024. You may request accommodations directly on the registration form, or by contacting Ashley J. Hicks at [email protected]. We understand that this is not an exhaustive list, so if you have questions or if there is anything else we might be able to provide in order to make our programming accessible to you, we’d love to hear from you.

Caregiver support

  • We realize that in-person attendance can be a larger lift for caregivers in our community. With that in mind, we are pleased to offer stipends to help offset the cost of hiring caregiver support. You can let us know on the registration form if you’d like to request one of these stipends, and we will email you to begin a conversation. These stipends are limited, but we will do our best to fulfill all requests.

  • We know that theatre administration isn’t the most interesting topic for young people, but children are welcome to attend any portion of the Spring Summit alongside an adult. You can let us know on the registration form if any children will be attending with you, and we’ll reach out to see what kid-friendly activities (coloring books, crayons, etc.) we can have on hand. We’re happy to chat about what we could do to make the experience fun for everyone. On 6/4 and 6/5 in the Spaces@520 there are also convenient side rooms in each studio that could serve as a “homework office.”

  • A dedicated lactation space is available at A.R.T./New York’s Spaces@520.
